final DRAFT is a consultancy service established & registered as a Business by Neil Harwood in January 2004, following the registration of an ABN (90244305512) in September, 2003.

As detailed on our Services page, the Consultancy has a central focus on providing a range of computer-based services including:

• Drafting / design of building plans for homeowners/renovators, builders, commercial / public clients;
• Production / training in computer-based work for small businesses, individuals and students.

BACKGROUND

Neil has developed drafting, design and CAD (Computer Aided Drafting) skills through the experiences of:

• Graduating from the Faculty of Architecture at the University of NSW in 1980, with a B.Sc. (Industrial Arts)/ Dip.Ed. degree (majoring in Industrial Design)
• As a teacher with the NSW Department of Education & Training from 1980 - 2001, in the subject areas of Technical Drawing, Technics, Computing Studies and Design -Technology.

From 2001 to 2003, a Trainer / Consultant role was taken on with the training of adults & students in their use of computers - as aligned to developing further skills in Information Technology.

By late 2003, drafting of CAD drawings was emerging as the dominant / preferred area of work, as aligned to Neil's ongoing interest in Architecture & Building with further training undertaken through:

• TAFE in 2004 - CAD 1 (autoCAD v2002 2D software);
• OTEN (TAFE) IN 2005 - 2006 - CAD 2 (autoCAD v2005 2D software), Architectural Working Drawings, Structures;
• Graphisoft Software Co. in 2005 & 2007 - archiCAD 3D software training
